Technology Advancements Continued

Technology is an integral part of the gaming industry highlighting how there must be innovations in order to maintain competiton and success. The Nintendo Wii emphasizes how these technological advancements set each individual console apart from alike companies such as Sony and Microsoft's Xbox. The Nintendo Wii made the entire gaming experience more social, and even more physically engaging. The main feature that set this console apart from its competitors was the design of the Wii controller. Instead of the classic, bulky, button-filled controller, Nintendo created a slim, wand-like controller that resembled a TV remote. The controller connected to the console wirelessly and was equipped with motion sensors that picked up on movement and rotation in three dimensions. The construction and design of the Wii controller allowed for players to get up, move around, actually become a part of the game itself. This innovation transformed the act of gaming by creating a much more immersive and compelling experience for its users, and even had the potential of attracting more consumers.
